  Rezumat:   The Tolerance Policy of Joseph the Second (1780-1790) in Transylvania and in Partium. The Consequences of the Patent of Tolerance in the Greek-Catholic Eparchy of Oradea. The present article represents a modest contribution to the tolerance policy of the Emperor Joseph the Second in Transylvania and in Partium, especially in the region of Bihor and they want to examine the influx of Josephine politics regarding the activity of the Greek-Catholic Eparchy of Oradea. The Eparchy, in its first decade of existence, recorded a spontaneous growth becoming the political and cultural centre of Romanians from Transylvania and Hungary. Its geographic position (close to Buda, Wien and Tarnavia) permitted, comparing to other towns, a faster penetration of the ideological currents of the ages which were: the josephisme, the illuminisme, the echo of the French Revolution, and the development of a consistent cultural activity. The religious reforms of the Emperor Joseph the Second were at the highest point with the Edict of Tolerance of October the 13th 1781, delivered at Linz for the Superior Austria and its successive applications.
